Hearts for Heartland, a charity event held at Jarrett headquarters in Orrville earlier this month, raised $88,000 for Heartland Education Community. Special guest Archie Griffin, two-time Heisman trophy winner, participated in a Q-and-A while Olympic gold medalist Dan Jansen signed autographs.

“Our community came together to support Hearts for Heartland, and I am grateful to our community leaders, business leaders, school community, employees and all who made Hearts for Heartland a tremendous success,” said Mike Jarrett, president and CEO of Jarrett Companies.

Orrville businesses and community members supported the event through sponsorships and donations for silent and live auction items, from vacation getaways and restaurant gift cards to a Big Green Egg grill. Other items included Ohio State University football tickets, an autographed guitar by country music artist Phil Vassar, and autographed football memorabilia by Archie Griffin, Anthony Muñoz and Jim Tressel.

All proceeds were donated to Heartland Education Community, a local nonprofit organization whose purpose is to engage the entire community in the education of Orrville youth by shifting the focus from school to education and the responsibility from school to community.
