Hemoglobin A1C Test, Tuscarawas Clinic for the working uninsured

Diabetes is the leading cause of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness and amputation, yet nearly 25 percent of people who have it don’t even know it. Managing tight blood sugar control can help prevent major complications associated with the disease. The A1C test results are the “batting average” of how an individual is managing their blood sugar over the last couple of months. The Union Hospital Community Health and Wellness staff with the support of the Dover Noon Lions organization will once again be offering this valuable screening A1C test. Managing the type and quantity of food that is eaten directly impacts the blood sugar results. This screening will be available on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured located at 420 Reeves Ave. Suite D in Dover between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and noon. Appointments are required and space is limited. You may register on line at www.unionhospital.org or you may call 330.602.0778 to schedule your appointment. Fasting is not required.
