The Wayne County Health Department is reminding parents that Ohio requires children to be properly immunized for entrance into kindergarten, seventh grade and 12th grade.

Vaccines are offered during walk-in clinic hours at the health department; at the Orrville, Mt. Eaton and Kidron outreach clinics; and at the Back to School Clinics. A child may be brought to any clinic location regardless of home address.

A shot record must accompany each child, and children under 18 years of age must be brought by a parent, legal custodian or person authorized to bring the child for vaccines.

The health department accepts many private insurance cards and Medicaid cards. For those without insurance a donation of $10 per dose is accepted. No one will be refused services due to inability to pay.

Wayne County Health Department is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 203 S. Walnut St. in Wooster from 9-10 a.m. and from 1-4 p.m.; Mt. Eaton Care Center is open the first Friday of each month at 9176 Winesburg Road in Mt. Eaton from 9-11:30 a.m.; Christ Church United Church of Christ is open the second Tuesday of each month at 301 N. Main St. in Orrville from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and Kidron Mennonite Church is open the third Tuesday of each month at 3987 Kidron Road in Kidron from 9-11:30 a.m.

Back to School Clinics are Thursday, May 10 at the Wayne County Schools Career Center from 5-7:30 p.m. and the Administration Building, 518 W. Prospect St., on Saturday, July 28 in Smithville from 8 a.m. to noon.
