Harvest Fest Parade accepting registrations
Travel along state Route 62 and 39 through Berlin can be a challenge on any given day, but coming up later this fall, locals will have a chance to take their time traveling through Berlin’s main thoroughfare.
The annual Harvest Fest Parade will take place in Berlin on Sept. 7 in conjunction with the annual Berlin Harvest Fest & Rib Cook-off. Since July 2003 the Holmes County Chamber and Berlin Main Street Merchants have jointly organized the parade. Harvest Fest activities include live music on the Berlin square, a rib cook-off, food vendors, sales and specials. Friday activities will be added this year as well.
The Holmes County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau is currently seeking parade participants who want to sign up and become part of this annual tradition, which sees plenty of homemade floats, tractors, cars, pick-up trucks, semi-trucks and walkers take part.
The Harvest Fest Parade will step off at 6 p.m. on state Route 62 in front of Berlin Mennonite Church. The parade will continue west on state Route 39 and end at the Berlin Elementary School. Parade sign-in will be located across from Berlin Farmstead Restaurant. Entries should sign in by 5 p.m.
Marching bands, fire departments, local businesses, residents and children are invited to participate in this community event.
To register, call the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau at 330-674-3975 or email tiffany@holmescountychamber.com to request an entry form. All entries are due by Aug. 30.
