Votes have been counted and winners named for the People’s Choice awards for favorite large and small trees at the Union Hospital Auxiliary’s Christmas Tree Festival at Warther Carvings Museum in Dover, which concluded Sunday, Nov. 20. According to project chair Connie Finton, of New Philadelphia, the award for favorite large tree went, for the second consecutive year, to Sound Energy Company for their tree titled “Lollipops and Gingerbread.” The selection for favorite small tree resulted in an even tie between Michael Cominaghi’s “The Back of Santa’s Closet” and Next Industries’ “A Very Perry Christmas.” Visitors to the Christmas Tree Festival were invited to vote on their favorite trees throughout the nine days of the event. The event this year marked the 18th for the festival, which is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Union Hospital Auxiliary. Proceeds from auxiliary events are used to purchase patient care equipment for the hospital.
