Members of the Rotary Club of New Philadelphia are unfurling their flags for the 13th annual Salute Freedom Project. Nearly 200 American flags will be placed at homes and businesses in New Philadelphia in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The flags will stay in place throughout the summer and fall holidays before coming down for the winter after Veterans Day in November. The fee to participate is a $30 donation to the Rotary Club to offset their expenses.

Coordinating the Salute Freedom subscriptions and installation routes is the job of project co-chairman Mark Garrison.

“We encourage those renewing from last year or who want to become a new flag subscriber to use the online website to sign up and make their payment through a secure pay site,” Garrison said.

The project’s website is app.helpingwithflags.com/New-Phil-Rotary.

Project leader Tom Police of Dover reminds everybody flags in the Salute Freedom Project are placed only within the New Philadelphia city limits.

“We have email addresses for many of our past subscribers, and they should have already received their renewal information in that manner,” Police said. “The rest of last year’s subscribers have been sent a paper renewal form in the U.S. Mail.”

Police said paper forms also can be downloaded from the project’s website for both new and renewing subscribers who prefer to send a check in the mail.

Call Garrison at 330-339-1773 or Police at 330-204-6093.
