Bright Life Players’ winter show starts Nov. 8
Bright Life Players, a local theatrical nonprofit, will present its winter production, “A Carol for Tiny Tim,” over two weekends in November. Show times are Nov. 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 7 p.m., with a matinee on Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m. The performances will take place at the First Church of God, 1953 Akron Road, Wooster.
Directed by Margaret Leatherman, the play is set 15 years after Ebenezer Scrooge’s famous transformation.
“This warm and wonderful play takes place as Jacob Marley calls upon the Spirits of Christmas to help Tiny Tim, now a spoiled young man,” Leatherman said.
Using his past infirmity to gain sympathy and money, Tim must confront his selfish ways with the help of the Christmas spirits.
“Audiences can rest assured that Tim will learn his lesson and once again exclaim, ‘God bless us everyone,’” Leatherman said.
The production features a cast of 23 local actors, ranging in age from 10-65, hailing from Wooster, West Salem, Orrville and Dalton. Volunteers are still needed for backstage and box office help. Those interested can call Leatherman at 330-465-6430.
Bright Life Players stages two productions each year and also offers programs for local churches and organizations. After covering expenses, proceeds from ticket sales are donated to charity. For “A Carol for Tiny Tim,” the group will contribute to an organization that provides clothes, food and other essentials to those in need in West Virginia.
Tickets are $11 for adults, $8 for children and $32 for a family four-pack. They can be purchased at the door or online at brightlifeplayers.org. The venue is accessible, with paved walkways and no stairs.
Looking ahead, Bright Life Players will present “Jungle Book” in spring 2025, with auditions opening to local youth. For more information or to make a donation, visit brightlifeplayers.org or find the group on Facebook.
