Vital to renew upcoming Children Services levy
Letter to the Editor,
This Election Day, Wayne County voters have a chance to directly impact the lives of our most vulnerable children by renewing the Children Services 0.2 mill levy. This levy is vital. It doesn’t increase taxes, but it does provide essential support to our county’s Children Services program, ensuring abused, neglected and dependent children continue to receive the care they desperately need.
Wayne County can take tremendous pride in the dedicated professionals and volunteers who work every day to protect our children. Many families in our community face challenges such as mental health issues, substance abuse and other crises. Often hidden behind these struggles are innocent children who suffer silently and require a wide range of services to heal, grow and eventually become thriving members of society.
Children Services collaborates with numerous agencies to ensure these children receive the support, compassion and care that define Wayne County’s spirit of community. On Nov. 5, by renewing this levy, we can continue to provide a safety net for these children, offering them the stability and love they deserve.
Please join me in voting yes on the Children Services levy renewal. Together, we can continue to protect the future of Wayne County — our children.
