4-H Shooting Sports Club holds meeting
                        

The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club met May 30 at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.

President Jimmy Britt opened the meeting for business, the United States flag pledge was led by Braxton Touby and the 4-H flag pledge was led by Cheyanne Mackey.

The treasurer’s report was given by Mackey while the secretary’s report was given by Patricia Lang.

The club members discussed inviting Brandon Irving, director of Holmes County Veterans Affairs, and/or Brian Bernhart of the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office with the K-9 Unit to a meeting. Community service projects were discussed, along with the Holmes County Fair, the Holmes County Fair Booth and Life Skills Project judging.

Those in attendance participated in shotgun, rifle, pistol and archery disciplines.

Refreshments were furnished by Touby.

The next meeting will be Saturday, June 10 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club, with Mackey furnishing refreshments.

Disciplines available in the Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Program are basic archery, safe use of guns, archery, rifle, pistol, shotgun, shotgun shell reloading, muzzleloader, hunting and wildlife, living history, western heritage, trapping and more.
