Civil War Round Table to meet
The Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Round Table will meet Thursday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the community room at the Dover Public Library. The featured presenter will be Jeanne Cox, who will present Civil War Medicine.
Participants will learn about the state of medicine at the beginning of the Civil War and the important changes that quickly developed out of necessity for immediate and long-term care of the large number of wounded on the battlefield. Participants will learn about battlefield medicine, the development of nursing, transportation of the wounded and medical care of the United States Colored Troops.
