Sunday, Jan. 31, the Tusco Amateur Radio Club will hold their 20th annual hamfest and electronics show. The hamfest, a flea market for anyone interested in amateur radio, computers and electronics, will be held at the Wallick Auction building, located at 965 North Wooster Avenue in Strasburg, from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be hourly door prize drawings, a 50/50 raffle, and a grand door prize drawing for a brand new Yeasu or Icom mobile radio. Talk/check-in will be on 146.730-MHz for all amateur radio operators. Concessions and free parking will be available. Admission is a $5 donation at the door. Vendor tables are available for $10 each plus admission. “We want to welcome everyone in the area to this event, whether they are ham operators or not,” said chairperson Kyle Quillen. “This is a great event to find deals on radio and computer equipment and other electronics.” Gary Green, Tusco Amateur Radio Club president, said “Anyone interested in learning more about amateur radio or becoming a licensed operator should stop by the hamfest or one of our regular club meetings to get more information.” The Tusco Amateur Radio Club meets every first and third Thursday, at 7:30 p.m., at Dover Memorial Hall, located at 410 North Wooster Avenue in Dover. For more information regarding the hamfest or for vendor information, contact Kyle Quillen at 888-447-2403 or e-mail hamfest@tuscoarc.org.
