Candy Cane Invitational has sweet results
The Tuscarawas County YMCA optional gymnastics team announced its results at the Candy Cane Invitational held at the Riverfront YMCA. Competition included Level 6, 7 and Excel Platinum gymnasts. With a possible 40 all-around points, top all-around scorers were Ellie Horger with 35.45 points and Jaycie Baker with 34.7 points.
Earning 9.0 or higher on individual events were Kinley Reichman with 9.25 on vault and 9.1 on floor, Ellie Horger with 9.4 on floor, Vivian Denney with 9.3 on beam, Jaycie Baker with 9.25 on floor, Layla Porter with 9.25 on floor, Rebekah Klaserner with 9.15 on vault, and Mia McPeek with 9.0 on vault.
Taking first place in individual events were Kendall Geers on vault, bars, beam, floor and all around; Jaycie Baker on vault; Vivian Denney on beam; Ellie Horger on bars; and Kinley Reichman on vault.
Ribbons were awarded to the top six gymnasts in each event. Those earning ribbons were as follows:
—Level 7: Jaycie Baker, first on vault, second on beam, and third on bars, floor and all around; Mia McPeek, second on vault, third all around, and fourth on bars, beam and floor; and Auria McDaniel, fourth on vault, bars, beam, floor and all around.
—Level 6: Ellie Horger, first on bars, second on beam, floor and all around, and fourth on vault; Kinley Reichman, first on vault, third on floor, fifth on bars and all around, and sixth on beam; Rebekah Klaserner, second on vault, fourth on bars and beam, and fifth all around; Vivian Denney, first on beam, third on bars, fourth all around and sixth on floor; Layla Porter, third on floor, fifth on bars, beam and all around, and sixth on vault; Arli Waller, sixth on vault and floor; Anna Bonvechio, fifth on vault and floor and sixth on beam; Gracyn Beaber, third on bars; and Kinsley McDonald, sixth on bars.
